South Staffs Windows says it is having such success selling the Residence 9 (R9) composite window system – said to be perfect for conservation areas, listed buildings, and period properties – that it’s started selling Residence 7 (R7) too. The two systems are part of the Residence Collection, which describes itself as ‘the next-generation systems company’.
Launched at this year’s FIT Show, from the inside R7 is completely flush, so it looks like a ‘classically simple’ timber window, perfect for contemporary and traditional homes. From the outside it is available with flush or storm sashes, just like R9. Its thermal efficiency and weather performance are also reportedly ‘excellent’.
South Staffs sales and marketing director, Alex Keyes, said: “Our business is built to sell quality products so R9 was an obvious choice and it’s done very well for us. If we compare selling windows to selling cars, we were selling basic models and now, with R9, we’re selling Aston Martins! We’ve had great success in conservation areas because planners are satisfied by the way R9 looks. It’s opened up a whole new market for us.
“R7 is the right system to sell alongside R9,” Alex continued. “We can mix and match on the same house because they look identical from the outside depending which sash option you choose. R7 offers a different internal look to R9 because it is flush rather than decorative. Add that to R7’s narrower 75mm frame depth and they make a perfect pairing.
“Selling Residence Collection windows has really put us on the map in our local area. We’re known for selling quality products because that’s exactly what the Residence Collection is.”
