Everglade Windows, the longest established Kommerling fabricator in the South East of England, chose National Home Security Month to add Secured by Design and the Everguard Hinge Protection System to its Kommerling windows.

The Everguard Hinge Protection System improves security by protecting the window or door hinge from intruders applying force to try and prise the sash from its hinges. It has interlocking claws made from high tensile steel and according to Everglade, achieves the highest load rate for window and door defence devices. In tests, doors fitted with Everguard far exceeded the load force requirement of BS7950 standard and performed right up to 7.5kn (a force of almost three quarters on a tonne).
The door version of Everguard fits neatly and almost flush to the frame to prevent it catching on clothing or bags as people walk through the door.
