Freefoam has launched a new video highlighting its longstanding customer, Building Plastics Wales. The short film showcases the business and its customers and illustrates how representatives of Freefoam work with trade suppliers to build longstanding relationships that lead to growth and success.
“We support all our customers and believe that their growth is our growth,” Colin St John, Freefoam’s commercial director explained. “Building strong and lasting relationships with our customers, such as Building Plastics Wales, is crucial to our business. Our roofline, cladding and interior products are an ideal addition to any PVC supplier and it’s fantastic to see this customer grow and flourish with the help of Freefoam.”
A family-run business based in south Wales, with two branches in Blackwood and Newport, Building Plastics Wales was started in 2014 by Vaughan Colley. Vaughan has many years experience selling PVC products and could see a gap in the market in south Wales for local supply, as well as the growing opportunity for online sales of building products.
Vaughan said: “We have grown the business over time, moving from the original single unit, to thee units in Blackwood and the addition of our Newport branch to service the local area and our internet sales. We supply the full range of Freefoam building plastics throughout the UK, from the top end of Scotland to the bottom end of Cornwall, delivered by our own vehicles and network of national couriers.”
Building Plastics Wales serves a wide range of customers from trade buyers, DIY customers and large housing associations. Vaughan explained: “We’ve seen our online sales grow year on year. They now form around 40% of our total business. E-commerce business is made up of a mixture of purely online customers from all around the UK alongside our increasingly growing number of traditional local trade customers choosing to click and collect from branch or have products delivered to site. It’s a trend we can see continuing, and we’re pleased we’ve got the systems in place to make the most of this opportunity.”
Freefoam’s area sales manager, Steve Shaw, works closely with Building Plastics Wales. Steve gives regular product and technical support, and actively looks for new business for Building Plastics Wales. Vaughan said: “Our sales of Freefoam products have grown as Freefoam bring out new products. We have a good working relationship with the customer service team and Steve, our area manager. I can only see this relationship with Freefoam getting stronger as we build the company up.”
