Debar says it continues to ‘push the boundaries’ in the bi-fold door marketplace with the launch of its new DeWall aluminium bi-folding door system, which debuted at Fensterbau in March.
The new system is now available in the UK market having recently achieved certification to PAS 24 for enhanced security performance requirements and BS6375 part 1 weather tests.
Bi-folding door specialist, Debar, says it is ‘leading the way’ in bi-fold hardware development, following on from the launch of its timber bi-folding door system. The company is now launching a purpose designed aluminium bi-fold door system, which will offer new possibilities to its customer base.
The DeWall aluminium system is an inline system offering above ground bottom running per panel weights of 120KG, widths of 1.2m and heights 3m. The system includes optional features such as slim sightlines, adjustable jambs and multiple threshold options. It is available on Logikal software and utilises the latest technology in the design of bespoke hardware, resulting in a high performance and extremely contemporary looking door.
The system has recently achieved certification to PAS 24 enhanced security performance for door sets, which will enable customers to achieve Document Q compliance and Secured By Design status. The system reportedly excelled at the BS 6375 Part 1 weather test, achieving air at 600pa class 4, water at 600Pa class 9a and wind resistance at 1,200pa class A3. With ‘U’ values of 1.7, the system also offers excellent thermal values, delivering all round high performance.
The DeWall aluminium system hardware components are bespoke to give maximum carry capacity, while still offering slim sightlines, oversized doors and minimum profiles. According to Debar, the system is easily fabricated using punch tool technology or crimping and can be constructed to a maximum panel height of 3,000mm, 1,200mm width and carry weight of 120kg per panel. The doors can open in or out using the same profiles. The sash and outer frame are both the same depth.
According to Debar, super fabricators who purchase large quantities of bi-fold profile and gaskets have the opportunity of buying direct from its suppliers, utilising its dies. This reportedly ensures the relevant PAS24 and weather testing is unaffected.
Debar managing director, Graham Fawthrop, commented: “The DeWall system is state of the art and has the flexibility to incorporate a number of options, it comes with complete assembly instructions with ‘off-the-shelf’ hardware components and full technical support. It also incorporates our high quality hardware such as concealed shoot-bolt locks with cylinder option, colour matched handles and magnetic door holders.
“With the recent certification for both PAS 24 and BS6375 weather tests, we are very excited that Debar is now able to offer this real contender to the marketplace as an alternative to those products already available, we look forward to supplying satisfied customers both old and new.”
