Tony Brown, Vertik-Al’s transport manager, celebrates 30 years’ service with the powder coating specialist this month. To mark the occasion, Tony was presented with a celebration cake, cards, and gifts from the management team.
During his 30 years, Tony has worked in many departments throughout the business. Currently, he is responsible for managing all inward and outbound transport. All drivers and the yard team report to Tony.
John Park-Davies, Vertik-Al’s managing director, said: “Tony is one of the ‘grandees’ of Vertik-Al. His hard work, loyalty and dedication to the business is greatly appreciated. 30 years’ service is an outstanding achievement, and we look forward to celebrating many more milestones.
“The success of Vertik-Al is down to people like Tony. As we move forward with growth plans and further investment, we are ever grateful for their commitment and contribution.”
Milestones
Over the past few years, Vertik-Al has marked significant service milestones with a montage of photographs, memorable moments and notable events, all of which are shown on information screens throughout the business. Tony is an enthusiastic Birmingham City FC fan, so many of his highlights focus on football.
In the year Tony joined the business, Kevin Keegan, the former Liverpool FC and England striker, was appointed manager of Newcastle United; the Football Association (FA) launched the new Premier League, and Manchester United won the Football League Cup for the first time. Closer to home, there was the election of the Labour MP for West Bromwich West, Betty Boothroyd, as speaker of the House of Commons – the first woman to hold the position.
