Leaders of Scotia Windows and Doors have appointed Tony Campbell director of operations. Tony joined the Ayrshire-based business in February, after having previously worked for Saint-Gobain. He spent 15 years working in multi-site manufacturing and operations with Glass Solutions before moving over to Saint-Gobain’s timber kit division, Scotframe.
“Tony’s promotion reflects the positive impact he has made in the short space of time he’s been with the company,” said Gavin Smith, Scotia’s managing director. “His experience with one of the world’s leading operators in the sustainable construction sector is already shaping Scotia for a new and challenging phase in the industry.”
From its Kilmarnock ‘super campus’, the Scotia team plans to expand production of aluminium products. Leaders of the firm have also reported having ‘laid solid foundations to address the requirements of the new Future Homes Standard’, thanks to the strength of the business’ Passivhaus design team.
Commenting on the firm’s potential expansion and Future-Homes-ready products, Gavin, Scotia’s MD, added: “These improvements to our production and processes will help the group strengthen its position in the market, not only as the market endures a sustained period of uncertainty but also as we look further ahead to a recovery in the industry in the longer term.” The Scotia team has manufactured and installed high-quality double glazing since 1983.
The firm employs more than 200 people working from its 150,000ft² double-factory campus in Ayrshire, for Scotland. Over the years Scotia’s range of services has grown to provide PVC-U windows and doors in a variety of styles, colours and designs to new build housebuilders. The team also supplies and installs for commercial contracts, and supplies windows and doors to joiners and builders. The team currently supplies and installs an imported range of aluminium products throughout Scotland from the Scotia Architectural range.
