Leaders of the marketing agency Purplex have appointed two digital marketing apprentices: Sam Cherry and Harry Lynn. The appointments are the result of a strong partnership with Weston College.
Sam and Harry are studying for level three qualifications in marketing at Weston College and are to work alongside the Purplex team for 18 months. The duo are scheduled to work across several departments in order to gain valuable experience in social media, client services, SEO, pay-per-click, creative video and design, as well as PR and content.
“I’ve always believed we would build a world-class business,” said Andrew Scott, the founder and CEO of Purplex. “It’s great to partner with our local college to shape the future of the south west region with initiatives like the apprenticeship programme.
“It’s a privilege to offer opportunities like this within our agency so we can help support the next generation. And I’m excited to see all that Sam and Harry will go on to achieve with our amazing group of marketeers.”
“I’ve always wanted a career in marketing and social media and believe this is the best opportunity for me,” added Sam. “It’s a relief to know how supported I am here. Learning about the industry first-hand is invaluable and the best thing I’ve done this year.”
Harry’s previous role was as a contractor working outdoors. He was concerned that he may not have the experience required to enter the corporate world. “Purplex has supported me every step of the way since starting this apprenticeship scheme,” Harry explained.
“Everyone has been so patient and understanding. Both Andrew and the college have created a brilliant course and I’m enjoying each step of the process. To anyone considering an apprenticeship scheme, I’d say go for it. Don’t let lack of knowledge stop you!”
