Hardware supplier, VBH, says it has demonstrated its confidence in the market by strengthening its UK external sales and technical team.
Simon Monks moves from the position of area sales manager (ASM) to that of national sales manager – England, and now has overall responsibility for sales activity in England, with the exception of the West Country, which continues to fall under the stewardship of long-serving Phil Thomas.
Industry stalwart, Barry Wheeler, has been recruited as ASM for the southern region that extends from Kent to Wiltshire, including South and West London. Based in Surrey, Barry is ideally placed to manage this area and brings much experience from previous roles at hardware suppliers and manufacturers.
The West Midlands area is ably managed by Daventry based Dan Powell, who joined VBH last March. According to VBH, Dan is ‘well liked by his customers’ and has industry experience that ‘belies his young age’.
VBH managing director, Peter Rowlands, commented: “I’m very glad to have been able to give Simon the opportunity to show what he can bring to a senior management role. He showed a lot of initiative as an ASM and he has already changed a few procedures to the benefit of all. Although relatively young, he has the respect of his team and his peers.
,“The additions of Dan and Barry reinforce what was already an excellent sales team. I honestly believe this is now the strongest group in the industry. The newer faces have been accepted by their longer-serving colleagues and they all learn from each other. They all have different strengths but something that is common throughout the group is their knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the products they are promoting and the market in general.”
