Leaders of ERA have appointed Graham Colls as the business’ new head of technical product. The move is part of the home security and fenestration component provider’s commitment to providing fabricators and installers with the highest quality hardware and decorative furniture, its representatives have said.
Graham has more than 35 years’ experience delivering technical development and product management for the fenestration industry. He is now set to lead ERA’s in-house team of product experts to further accelerate the business’ product innovation strategy.
“I am looking forward to defining our customers’ product needs and turning them into a reality with ERA’s enthusiastic and knowledgeable technical product team,” said Graham. “Working closely with the highly skilled engineering team, we will ensure every product has a fully rounded approach across its design, mechanisms and usability, to ensure it provides customers with the highest standards of performance and security.
“ERA is well known in the industry for its new ways of thinking. With that, 2023 promises to be yet another year of innovation for the company. The wider team and I are already working on creative security solutions that not only have technical performance but additional and important considerations such as sustainability at the front and centre. The future certainly looks bright.”
As part of his new role, Graham is to work alongside ERA’s UKAS-accredited test centre at its Midlands head office. Working in partnership with ERA’s engineering and category management teams, Graham’s primary focus is to ensure that high-performance hardware that meets customers’ requirements is designed and manufactured. This includes the evolution of existing product ranges, the creation of ground-up designs and the development of bespoke products that meet specific customer applications, in line with industry developments and consumer demand.
Graham and his team will be responsible for spearheading designs across ERA’s complete portfolio of hardware for timber, aluminium, PVC-U and composite products. The appointment follows a successful career in senior management roles at systems houses including Duraflex, Veka and Epwin Group.
