The UK manufacturer of high-quality windows, doors, home extensions and conservatory products has kickstarted a major digital transformation project with the appointment of a new group head of IT: Craig Schmidt. The role aims to strengthen manufacturing and operations productivity, and to enhance the level of customer support provided by the Conservatory Outlet Group, which employs over 400 people across its 60,000ft² factory in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and retail businesses Clearview and Pennine Home Improvements.
Craig, 45, boasts extensive experience in implementing business transformation across multiple industries, and joins the team during an ambitious growth period. The business has reportedly expanded from £8m of sales in 2011 to £48m this year. Craig aims to help develop product and service innovations by harnessing the power of IT and digital systems, making the firm’s customer journeys more memorable and supporting its 27-strong network of home improvement retailers across the UK.
