Architects looking for technical advice on the selection and correct specification of high performance timber joinery products will get guidance from the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) this year at Ecobuild.
The BWF will be exhibiting alongside the Wood Awards to promote the call for entries for this year’s awards and to offer advice regarding high performance timber products within the Wood Window Alliance, BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme and BWF Stair Scheme.
Promoting wood as the only natural sustainable material and one which plays ‘a key role in sustainable construction’, the BWF is also keen to warn architects and specifiers of the potential dangers of specifying non third-party certificated or accredited products.
Iain McIlwee, BWF chief executive, said: “Ecobuild is a great opportunity for both the Wood Awards and BWF to showcase what wood is capable of, but also to make clear the risks of specifying products that don’t live up to the high standards we expect of sustainability conscious buildings.”
In addition to Ecobuild, BWF and the Wood Awards will also be exhibiting towards the end of the year at the 100% Design show at Earls Court from 17-20 September.
BWF and the Wood Awards will be at stands S856 and S860 in the South Hall at Ecobuild.
