Hardware company, Winkhaus UK, has joined the Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB).
As a member, Winkhaus says it will be given access to knowledge of what is happening in the industry, keeping up to date with the latest news, regulations, and important issues within the aluminium sector.
The company will also be able to take advantage of networking opportunities, attend CAB events, members’ meetings and conferences, where knowledge and best practice methods can be shared with companies operating in this sector.
For Justin Harris, commercial director at Winkhaus, the growing domestic and commercial aluminium sector is a key reason for re-establishing membership.
He said: “World demand for aluminium is forecast to double from 40m tonnes per annum to 80m tonnes by 2025.
“The UK aluminium sector is therefore a growth market and we have recognised increasing demand for high-quality locking systems to integrate with aluminium windows and doors. Commercially and domestically the aluminium market represents a strategic focus for Winkhaus UK.”
Justin also believes membership is very much a ‘you get what you give’ situation and is keen for Winkhaus to be pro-active in its membership:
“As an active member of CAB, not only will we be kept up to date with the latest news in the aluminium sector, but we will have an opportunity to attend relevant events and actively have a stake in the future of the aluminium sector.”
Chief executive of CAB, Justin Ratcliffe, commented: “As the recognised voice of aluminium in building, CAB is delighted to welcome on board leading brand Winkhaus UK and looks forward to the company taking an active part in our wide range of technical and marketing activities.”
