Topping off a prosperous year that’s seen it celebrate its second birthday and surpass the £2m turnover mark, aluminium fabricator The Window Outlet has been named ‘Start-up of the Year’ at the Business Leader Awards.
Organised by Business Leader Magazine, the Business Leader Awards seek to ‘recognise and celebrate the region’s hardest-working entrepreneurs’.
An ‘expert’ judging panel, made up of 10 of the area’s most respected businessmen and women, spent four weeks scrutinising over 130 entries across 14 categories. That initial pool of entrants was whittled down to three for each category – and at an award ceremony at the Bristol Hotel, The Window Outlet was crowned Start-up Business of the Year.
Ben Warren, The Window Outlet managing director, said: “It goes without saying – we were over the moon to be named Start-up of the Year.
“In just two years, we’ve come such a long way as a business – pioneering PVC-U style quick lead times and quote turnarounds, and closing in on £2m turnover. We’re growing all the time – adding more products, winning more business, and expanding our reach across the south of England. It’s a hugely exciting time for us – and getting the Business Leader Award really is the icing on the cake.
“Clive Uppington and I started The Window Outlet, but it isn’t just about us. Our present success wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of dozens of staff, and this award is as much for them as it is for us. I’d like to thank them for everything they’ve done for the company over the past two years.”
