Tradeglaze employees presented staff of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA) charity with a donation cheque on Friday 19 May, after a five-strong team completed a 10k run, raising £1,254 for LNAA in the process. Team Tradeglaze finished 4th in the race, which took place on Sunday 16 April.
“We see the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance ‘ambucopter’ frequently in our county, working hard to get critically injured patients the fast medical care they need,” said Katerina Pickup, Tradeglaze’s marketing manager, who took part in the race. “None of us think that they’ll need a critical care team landing by helicopter to save their life. But the crew attend on average 4 life-saving missions a day. Their selfless work means that those critically ill patients have the best chance to survive.
“We are really happy that we have been able to run the City of Lincoln 10k race and raise such a great amount for the LNAA, who continue providing life-saving missions, all with no direct government funding and made possible only through the generosity of supporters.
“Our team really enjoyed the challenge and would like to extend our warmest thanks to all who have supported our fundraiser, be it through donations or by turning up on the day to cheer us on when our feet were burning! We would like to give a special mention and thank you to the personnel at the Standards and Evaluation Unit and 51 Squadron based at RAF Waddington for their generous donations and their support and encouragement in the run up to the event.”
Tanya Taylor, the LNAA’s head of corporate, community and events, said: “A huge thank you to all the team at Tradeglaze, for raising an amazing £1,254! The fabulous support from Tradeglaze helps to keep our helicopter in the sky and our critical care cars on the road, giving patients the best chance of survival. Thank you all so much once again!”
Before the Covid-19 pandemic paused the event, Tradeglaze employees used to run the Lincoln 10k race every year. More than 2,500 runners joined the City of Lincoln 10k race this year. The course finish line was next to Lincoln Cathedral.
The LNAA are a local charity based next to RAF Waddington. The bright yellow LNAA ambucopter regularly flies over the Tradeglaze office, landing at Lincoln County Hospital.
