Leaders of the Rooflight Association have published new guidance for specifiers. The association’s four new ‘Quickguides’ focus on regulatory requirements for rooflights and roof windows in respect of the conservation of heat and power. The four new guides – 09EN, 09SCO, 09NI and 09WA – can be downloaded for free, here.
Updated regulations relating to rooflights and roof windows have been introduced across the UK’s devolved nations at varying times. The latest is ‘Approved Document L 2022 for Wales, Volume 2: Buildings other than Dwellings’, which came into force earlier this year.
The Rooflight Association’s Quickguides are designed to provide specifiers with the salient facts, in a series of brief and easily digested documents, according to representatives of the association. The UK-based trade association was rebranded from the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers earlier this year.
“These changes are another step in improving the thermal efficiency of buildings, working towards the Future Homes Standard and achieving net zero,” said Jeremy Dunn, the Rooflight Association’s director and technical committee representative.
Earlier this year, members of the Rooflight Association met together for the first time since the rebrand, at Swindon’s National Self Build and Renovation Centre. Click here to read our article about this.
