Rehau is supporting this year’s Smart Home Week, from 21 – 27 May, to highlight some of the latest smart home technologies available or under development for the windows industry.
Now in its second year, Smart Home Week is an industry-led campaign which showcases the very best in smart, connected and integrated home technology. Through the campaign, organisers want to inform, educate and reassure end users about the benefits and opportunities of living in a smart, connected way, helping to create healthier, more comfortable and convenient homes.
Rehau is already exploring ‘smart’ possibilities and is getting behind Smart Home Week to bring greater awareness to the role that windows can play in the smart homes of the future.
At the recent Fensterbau Frontale 2018 exhibition in Germany, Rehau unveiled some of its smart home products which are either ready to launch or under development, including the Smart Guard window alarm system and its Smart Air product.
Rehau is also currently developing technology that would allow window panes to become a touch screen too.
Gareth Jones, marketing and technical director at Rehau said: “Smart technology is a rapidly expanding area of interest for many manufacturers, and REHAU is no different. We brought in intelligent controls, like NEA Smart, a few years ago, and we are now focusing on what we can deliver for our windows portfolio, ensuring they are an integral part of any smart home solution delivering more on comfort, convenience and security.”
