Aluminium fabricator CDW Systems has been recognised for its contribution towards a greener and more sustainable future. The Gloucester-based business, along with its sister company Clearway Doors and Windows, received an award from its main profile supplier Technal UK (Hydro Building Systems).
Having ordered 44 tonnes to date of Circal 75R, Hydro’s 75% recycled aluminium profiles, CDW has helped save 378 tonnes of CO2 emissions, they say. Jeremy Phillips, CDW’s group chair, received the award on behalf of both companies from Hydro’s managing director, Allan Barr, and its UK customer services manager, Mark Graham.
Jeremy said: “Technal UK enables us to provide our customers with a viable green and sustainable option and we are proud to receive this prestigious award from them. It’s really pleasing that in using Technal Profiles that utilise Circal 75R alloy as much as possible we can contribute towards reducing our carbon footprint. We have been able to work closely with Technal (Hydro) whose UK HQ is only a few miles away from both CDW and Clearway at Tewkesbury.
“This reinforces the sustainability credentials of aluminium. We are also looking at more efficient ways that both our factory waste and post-consumer waste can be recycled.”
Allan added: “It’s great pleasure to recognise the work CDW Systems has done to lower their carbon emissions by using Technal profiles that are sourced using Hydro Circal 75R alloy. We are looking forward to this sustainable partnership continuing well into the future. Great achievement by all at CDW Systems.”
