Last week’s sold-out Glazing Summit conference united some of the biggest players and brands in the industry for what organisers have called ‘another staggering success’. The event took place at Edgbaston cricket ground, Birmingham, on Thursday 12 October 2023.
Around 500 key players, business leaders and industry professionals from across the supply chain attended the summit for a day of discussion and insight on some of the most important issues that the sector is facing. The Glazing Summit is in its fifth year, and featured expert panellists discussing the Future Homes Standard, triple glazing, the skills crisis and the challenges facing installers.
Andrew Scott, founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of Insight Data and Purplex Marketing, presented a keynote address at the event, focussing on the marketing strategies that businesses should be using to mitigate a slowdown in the market. “Companies once again need to focus on their brand, reputation and marketing strategy,” said Andrew. “Businesses that invest in marketing during challenging times outperform their competitors and capture market share, meaning they can grow, even in a slowing market.”
Andrew also highlighted that the industry must improve its sales skills, after a boom period when many sales people became order takers. Other highlights of the summit included keynote addresses from Insight Data’s operational manager, Alex Tremlett, who delivered the company’s ‘State of the Industry Report;’ GQA’s strategic relationship manager, Dan Brown on the implications of the Building Safety Act; and the economist Ed Johnstone. The day ended with a lively talk from ‘the UK’s number one inspirational business speaker’, Brad Burton, who explained how delegates can make positive and lasting change in order to shape the future of their businesses.
“Glazing Summit 2023 illustrated the industry’s commitment to exchange ideas, share best practice and drive innovation,” added Andrew. “We are proud to have created an event that not only showcases the industry but also paves the way for its future.” Read more about the event online at
