Stevenswood picked up an impressive prize as the Mid-Market Team of the Year winner at the BVAC Management Team of the Year Awards in the Scotland finals on Thursday 6 June 2016.
The Scottish based manufacturer of windows, doors and kitchens has shown substantial growth in the last two years. Ron Hepburn, managing director at Stevenswood, said: “We’ve grown from six to 15 Local Trade Centres and all our existing centres have been relocated or remodelled to include a large showroom for all our products.
“The results have been phenomenal. Since moving the window and door factory we have doubled production to 1,400 frames per week and it has given us more room to expand kitchen manufacturing. Throughout the factories and Local Trade Centres we now employ more than 185 people.
“We have a strong management team, and we believe that it’s at the centre of the successful expansion.”
The way people buy windows has changed and Stevenswood was quick to recognise that a new model for selling windows and doors was needed. “Increasing the number of local trade centres means better support for window installers, builders and joiners, as they can use our showrooms as their own. Specialists in the centres offer advice on our complete range of products.”
Stevenswood manufactures and distributes PVC-U and aluminium windows, doors and conservatories, bi-fold and sliding doors, as well as rigid built kitchens. “We offer a quick turnaround on all products and we make it as easy as possible for companies to choose the best products for the job.”
Future plans for Stevenswood include increasing the number of Local Trade Centres with more planned in Scotland and also south of the border. Investment in new products is already underway. A double rebate door will be available very soon, after investment in new machinery earlier this year.
Ron added: “We have an incredible group of people working throughout the business, at the local trade centres, in head office and fabricating windows, doors and kitchens. These are exciting times for Stevenswood, and winning this award is great for everyone in the whole team.”
