Trade fabricator, Fentrade Aluminium Building Products, has reported a significant increase in demand for its aluminium bi-fold doors post lockdown. Chris Reeks, director of Fentrade said: “The increase in demand has come from retail installers and trade counters alike as a direct result of consumers looking to improve their homes over the lockdown period.”
The Newport-based fabricator manufactures the Aluk BSF70 bi-fold door with open-in or open-out door options, available in a range of single or dual colours and anodised finishes. Chris said: “We are finding the most popular colour options are grey and white, but we also offer a full range of RAL and non-RAL colours for installers to upsell into the consumer.” Furniture colours are suited across the range of Fentrade’s products for added aesthetics, with an option for anthracite grey handles and hardware too.
Fentrade also fits VBH Greenteq Clearspan hardware to their doors with rollers that accommodate greater sash weights and allows the production of sashes up to 1,200mm in size. The door rollers can easily be adjusted on site, which is an added benefit to installers.
Customers of Fentrade can choose to upgrade to the VBH Q-Secure homeowner security guarantee scheme. If entry is shown to be as a direct result of the hardware failing, VBH will pay up to £1,000 towards the cost of repair/replacing the door, up to £1,000 towards insurance excess payment and a goodwill payment of £1,000 to the homeowner.
Chris said: “This added level of protection gives homeowners peace of mind when it comes to home security and is another selling point to help installers close the sale too.”
