The Window Company (Contracts) has been accredited to the very latest occupational health and safety standard ISO45001: 2018.
Developed to replace OHSAS18001, ISO45001: 2018 is designed to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions.
Katie Thornton, director of compliance and administration at The Window Company (Contracts), commented: “The main benefit of ISO45001 is that it moves away from focusing on the negative impact of health and safety breaches and reinforces the positive benefits of good health and safety management systems. It deals with the risks associated with errors in health and safety but also emphasises the opportunities associated with getting things right. That’s very much in line with our safety culture here and we see the accreditation as a very positive move for the business.
“It won’t just benefit our own staff either of course but will also extend into the new build work we do onsite and the replacement work in residents’ homes, most of which are still occupied.”
Alongside its ISO45001 accreditation, The Window Company (Contracts) says it has also renewed its ISO9001 quality management and ISO14001 environmental management accreditations.
