The 14th GM Fundraising golf day, held at Mottram Hall on 21 July, was another ‘biggest yet’ for GM Fundraising, raising record amounts for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
“The spectacular Mottram Hall, set in 270 acres of Cheshire’s finest parkland, provided an excellent venue for this year’s event,” said Gary Morton, chairman of GM Fundraising.
“The weather was fantastic, the course spectacular and the service excellent, meaning a great day was had by all. The reigning team champions Promac fought off stiff competition on the 7,006 yard 18-hole Par 72 championship course, to uphold their winning title. Congratulations also goes to Rapierstar’s team member Jonathon Randles, group purchasing manager from General All-Purpose Plastics (GAP), who got a hole in one – and even better paid for a round of drinks in the bar to celebrate! This year’s Wooden Spoon went to the Quickslide team, led by MD and GMF committee member Adrian Barraclough.
“The day was followed by a superb dinner, high quality raffle, charity auction and prize giving in the evening. As with everything we do the key objective was to raise as much money as we could and I am delighted to announce that we topped all previous golf days by raising a staggering £12,409.92.
“The fact this amount can be raised by a load of people knocking a little white ball about, then having a few beers and a laugh in the evening, pays great testamony to this great industry in which we operate. A huge thanks to all the teams that took part and all their supporters.”
Next year will see the event returning to Mottram Hall on 22 June. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Gary Morton on gary@gmfundraising.co.uk
