The Mayor of the West Midlands, Andy Street, visited aluminium systems company, Reynaers Aluminium recently, as the business showcased the capabilities of its Birmingham-based facility.
During his visit, the Mayor explored the business’ purpose-built UK headquarters and discovered the impact of the company on the local economy. Having occupied its current site in Birmingham since 2017, Reynaers reportedly employs around 65 people locally and supplies an array of commercial, trade and high-end domestic aluminium glazing solutions to construction projects across the UK.
Commenting on his visit, Andy Street, the former CEO of John Lewis, said: “Across the West Midlands we have some brilliant, sector-leading, businesses, and it was great to visit another in Reynaers.
“Not only is the firm one of the global leaders in aluminium windows and doors, but their products are also going to be used to help build the athletes village for the Commonwealth Games. When we won the bid for the Games in 2022 it was always our aspiration to make sure local businesses were at the forefront, and it is great to see that happening.”
Alongside the Mayor’s visit, the Reynaers team also welcomed a number of leading architects and contractors from the region. During a presentation, guests were able to learn about Reynaers’ expertise in commercial builds and discover how the business can add value to construction projects across the UK through its expertly-crafted products and industry knowledge.
Richard Hall, managing director at Reynaers Aluminium, said: “As a business that’s proud to call Birmingham home, we were thrilled to have Andy Street take the time to explore the full breadth of our capabilities during his visit and discuss how we can continue to support the region to go from strength to strength. With world-class events such as the Commonwealth Games on the horizon, Birmingham has been well and truly marked on the map as the place for business in the UK and we’re proud to be invested in an area which presents such opportunity.”
