Nina Wadia OBE is to host the presentation ceremony at this year’s Installer Awards – an annual industry event organised by Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) magazine to honour excellence in the glazing installation sector. The British actress and comedian is best known for her work on EastEnders, the sitcom Citizen Khan and the BBC comedies Still Open All Hours and Goodness Gracious Me. Nina Wadia won awards and acclaim starring in the UK soap Eastenders , and as a cofounder of the breakout BBC hit show Goodness Gracious Me. Nina has also starred in TV shows including Dr Who, Death in Paradise, Still Open All Hours with David Jason, Skins, New Tricks, Holby City and The Vicar Of Dibley. Her recent shows include Neil Gaiman’s Sandman series for Netflix, Mel and Sue’s Hitmen, Stephen Merchant’s new comedy/drama The Offenders and UKTV Gold’s Newark Newark.
Her film career ranges from Bend it Like Beckham (2002) and Keith Lemon: The Film (2012) to The Last Dragon Slayer (2016) and Disney’s Aladdin (2019). Nina’s theatre work includes performing in Macbeth with Mark Rylance, The Tempest with Philip Madoc, and the Tony-award-winning Vagina Monologues. She repeatedly performed for Queen Elizabeth at jubilees, birthdays and alongside Monty Python legend Sir Michael Palin at the Royal Albert Hall.
