ift Rosenheim, the German based European notified testing, surveillance and certification body for windows, facades, doors, gates, glass and building materials, is investing in a new Technology Centre, following its continual growth over the last 10 years.
,The Technology Centre, situated at the Rosenheim motorway junction, is due for completion in mid 2016 and will provide a new home for 40 ‘highly qualified’ staff members, on a surface area of more than 3,000m² at a reported cost of around €6 million.
,The facility will house testing on the behaviour of construction products with regard to fire safety and smoke control, as well as large-sized facades (wind loads, air-tightness, and driving rain).
,Ift’s Nuremberg branch will continue to be the ‘ift Branch Office’ and this is where its ‘notified product certification body for fire safety’ will be set up.
