The trade fabricator Modplan has added seven new trucks to its transport fleet, to support its continued business growth. Representing a six-figure investment, the new Mercedes 7.5 tonne trucks form part of a 15-strong fleet to support customer schedules across the UK.
Gareth Gough, Modplan’s logistics manager, said: “We needed to increase our fleet to support the rise in demand for our products. We also took the opportunity to replace some of the older vehicles in our fleet. With the price of fuel continuing to rise to eye-watering levels, it makes good business sense to invest in newer, more economical vehicles which are better for the environment and better on fuel costs.”
New vehicles are just the start of the journey for the award-winning trade fabricator: Modplan has plans for further investment to update the remaining fleet over the coming years. Heidi Sachs, managing director, explained: “We’ve seen exceptional demand in the past two years. Despite the challenges faced across our sector, we have continued to invest throughout our business.
“The investment in our logistics division reflects our ongoing commitment to exceptional service across our wide-ranging product portfolio. The new Mercedes lorries are modern additions to our established fleet, and will ensure we continue to deliver our commitment to our customers.”
