The travel and lifestyle presenter Melissa Porter is to host the next Installer Awards – an annual industry event organised by Glass and Glazing Products (GGP) magazine to honour excellence in the glazing installation sector. Winners of GGP‘s Installer Awards are to be announced at a trophy presentation ceremony on 14 March 2024, at the Midland Hotel, Manchester.
Melissa is best known for her BBC work, which includes presenting Escape to the Country. She also owns a property renovation company and is a travel writer, a model and a self-confessed people person.
“We are delighted to have Melissa on board to present our next set of trophies in March,” said Charissa King, GGP‘s editor. “As well as being a fun and accomplished presenter, she’s a property-focussed pro, so we’re excited to bear witness to her style and expertise.”
The location of GGP‘s Installer Awards will not be unfamiliar to Melissa, as she studied marketing at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her TV work has allowed her to indulge a passion for property as well as her love of helping people achieve their dreams, her representative explained.
The installation projects celebrated by GGP‘s awards are sure to interest Melissa too. A Cheshire native of Italian-Czech parentage, Melissa reportedly fell in love with renovation from an early age, as her parents renovated properties throughout her childhood.
Melissa has written for publications including the Mail on Sunday and CityA.M. Her corporate work includes the B&Q Recognition Awards, the Daily Mail Property Awards and exhibitions such as BBC Good Homes.
