HOPPE team receive GAI double-crest in industry first

HOPPE (UK) has announced that three of its employees have received dual-registered status from the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI).

Business development managers Karen Nelson, Andrew Syms and Garrath Willshaw were already Registered Architectural Ironmongers (RegAI), but after being awarded their Diploma in Door Systems in November last year, they have gone on to complete the relevant GAI CPD programme in less than six months, allowing them to also hold Registered Door Systems (RegDS) status.

The Diploma in Door Systems educates learners on the technical expertise and understanding of key factors when specifying door systems. ARRONE technical managers Rob Adams and Rob Mottram also achieved the diploma in November and now hold RegDS status.

Karen Nelson, who was also awarded the Fellowship Award at the GAI Education awards last year, said: “I’m so proud to be a GAI-registered professional and to hold the double-crest. It’s important to be able to prove competency in the industry to not only our customers, but the wider construction industry that we are interacting with on a daily basis.”

The RegAI and RegDS designations show that an individual is a fully qualified architectural ironmongery professional who has completed a GAI Diploma and is now maintaining a high level of knowledge via the GAI CPD programme.

Ged Ryan, CEO of HOPPE (UK), added: “To have five members of staff holding RegDS status when they were only awarded the diploma in November shows their commitment to learning and to providing the best service to our customers.”
