Two colleagues at plastic injection moulding specialist, S&S Plastics, are limbering up to take part in Nottingham’s Robin Hood Half Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK.
Finance and HR manager, Emma Gregory and business development manager, Louise Gregory, will be running 13.1 miles on Sunday 25 September and are looking for your support.
Louise said: “Although we’ve both done half marathons before, it was a few years ago so the two of us had some work to do! So far the training is going well and to add to the challenge, we are looking to improve on our finishing times and achieve some ‘personal bests’.
“We all have our own stories and experiences of cancer, be it someone we know fighting a battle, the loss of a loved one, or even dealing with ‘the big “C”’ ourselves. It’s a horrible disease which, unfortunately, never seems to go away. I lost my brother to cancer seven years ago and not a day passes by without me thinking about him. Race day will be no different, but hopefully we can celebrate the day knowing the money we have raised is helping someone else to fight cancer!”
