Geocel has sponsored the training and NVQ assessment programme run by All Mastic, a mastic sealant application company based in the southwest of England. The partnership means that trainees are provided with a range of Geocel products, and other equipment, free of charge.
Working in association with both the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and the Association of Sealant Applicators, the team at All Mastic runs training courses from the firm’s headquarters in Portishead, Somerset. As well as one- and three-day courses, and the NVQ Level 2 qualification in Sealant Application, the team at All Mastic also offers the CITB’s SAP apprenticeship course, and provides a location for other sealant application contractors to send their apprentices to learn.
As part of the sponsorship, Geocel provides its sealant and adhesive products – specifically Geocel HM and Dow C60 and Dowsil 796 and 791 – for use during the training sessions, as well as sealant guns, aprons and other equipment. In return, All Mastic offers training sessions for Geocel employees and promotes the Geocel brand throughout the sponsorship.
“We are delighted to be joining forces with Geocel in the first partnership of its kind within the sealant industry,” said Warren Hill, All Mastic’s contracts director. “Throughout the year, we’ll be teaching students all aspects of joint sealant application. We feel that this new partnership enables us to use the very best materials available to teach all our trainees.”
Colin Macdonald, Geocel’s UK regional sales manager, added: “The sponsorship gives us an opportunity to give back to the industry and support All Mastic with its fantastic academy. It will also help us to capture the interest of individuals at the start of their career and introduce them to everything Geocel has to offer.”
