After originally postponing this year’s Fensterbau exhibition due to the Covid-19 epidemic, organisers of the Nürnberg event have decided instead to cancel this year’s show. The next Fensterbau exhibition will now take place on 29 March 2022.
A number of prominent exhibitors had already stated that they would not be attending the re-scheduled event, which had been moved to mid-June. A press release from Fensterbau Frontale stated that the ‘uncertain situation is leading to a declining willingness to invest also in the woodworking industry and in window, door and facade construction, combined with declining sales and production stops. At the same time, limited business activity due to official orders and international travel restrictions in many places make it difficult for trade fair participants to plan and prepare for their participation’.
Petra Wolf, member of the management board of NürnbergMesse, said: “We would like to express our sincere thanks for the numerous trusting and constructive discussions with industry representatives over the past few days, who have supported us in our decision-making process. Our goal of creating a special experience for exhibitors and visitors with the events Fensterbau Frontale and Holz-Handwerk and enabling the varied establishment and expansion of business relations cannot be realized under the influence of the Corona crisis.”
Stefan Dittrich, director of Holz-Handwerk, said: “The need for information and exchange will be greater than ever after this crisis. We are now looking ahead and setting the course for 2022, and we are convinced that nothing can replace personal contact in the business world either.”
