Leaders from Eyrise, the crystal glazing brand from Merck, are to address a global audience of architects at the World Architecture Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, tomorrow (30 November). Eyrise representatives are to focus on the topic of sustainability within the built environment.
Representatives of the glazing technology company are set to be among more than 50 international speakers discussing critical challenges facing architects. Filip Roscam, head of experience design at Eyrise, plans to examine the role of dynamic liquid crystal glazing in enhancing the long-term sustainability of commercial buildings, improving aesthetics with elegant functionality and attaining higher Green Building Certification scores.
The World Architecture Festival is the largest global architecture event, featuring live-judged awards, seminars and networking. Held in a different city each year, thousands of industry figures meet at the festival to celebrate achievements with peers and discover new products and services.
This year’s event is scheduled to begin tomorrow and end on 2 December.
“The World Architecture Festival showcases future-focused, innovative building projects from across the globe,” said Celine Glipa, CEO of Eyrise. “With sustainability being a key factor in creating cities and towns fit for generations to come, we will demonstrate how beautiful, light-filled structures can contribute to this goal.”
Based at booth number 12 in the festival’s exhibition hall, Eyrise representatives plan to provide demonstrations of solar shading and privacy glass. Liquid crystal solar shading glass for facades enables light transmission to be regulated within a second, without compromising on natural daylight, they say. The technology is designed to maintain a comfortable environment and positively impact wellbeing. Similarly, the firm’s i350 privacy glass allows flexible options for building interiors by creating instant private spaces where internal windows can also become presentation screens.
