The warm-edge spacer manufacturer Edgetech has been named as a finalist in three categories of the Made in the Midlands Awards 2023: Manufacturing Innovation, Sustainable Ethical Manufacturer and Manufacturer of the Year. The awards scheme, which sets out to celebrate regional success, is now in its 13th year. Winners are to be announced at a black tie event on Thursday (6 May). Edgetech is a part of Quanex.
“For decades, the Midlands has been a major hub for innovative manufacturing, so to be named among the region’s leading businesses is a hugely gratifying experience for us,” said Chris Alderson, Edgetech’s managing director. “Edgetech prides itself on its legacy of pushing technical boundaries, improving the energy efficiency of Britain’s built environment, and providing an ethical, supportive workplace for dozens of employees in the Midlands area.
“We’re delighted to be shortlisted alongside some of the most respected manufacturers in the region, and look forward to hearing the final results!” Winners are due to be announced at Birmingham’s Macdonald Burlington Hotel. Earlier this year, leaders of the spacer bar specialist business welcomed a new member to the firm’s marketing team. Dhilip Bains joined the company’s growing marketing department as marketing executive.
After studying economics and history, Dhilip achieved an MBA from Cardiff University. He then moved on to join a full-service marketing agency, working with major national and international brands. At Edgetech, Dhilip coordinates marketing teams across Britain and Germany, and is involved in working on PR stories, social media campaigns and digital marketing.
He said: “Edgetech is a globally respected brand, and it’s hugely exciting to be able to help it continue to thrive and grow. The Edgetech team has been extremely welcoming, and it’s a great place to work.” Read further detail about this story here.
