After recently relocating into a larger 30,200ft2 head office, close to the M5 and M6 motorway networks, Fire Glass UK has announced a ‘dramatic’ expansion by investing in staff, machinery and processes – including a dedicated quality control area.
The company, which celebrates 10 years in business this year, says it made the move in response to increased demand for fire glass and that it will continue to focus on its customer satisfaction goals of safety, quality and service. According to Fire Glass UK, ‘safety comes as standard’, as it offers technical advice and support to all customers for full peace of mind. The company also holds Firas, Certifire, Chas and Constructionline accreditations and is a member of The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF).
Fire Glass UK says that its commitment to quality is ‘actively demonstrated’ through its accreditations and certifications that are reviewed and monitored to ensure consistency, and that it keeps detailed quality control records for its own use and use by customers if required. Accreditations are said to include ISO 14001:2015; ISO 9001:2015; CPR for EN 1279 and 1250 – it is also working towards ISO 45001 ready for introduction later this year.
“The new factory in Oldbury is a huge step forward for the business,” said Sean Haynes, managing director. “It is a key part of our ongoing strategy to continue to be the UK’s only choice for fire rated and other specialty glass and glazing solutions and this expansion will allow us to do just that – as well as ensure that all our products are manufactured to the highest of quality standards.
“The move to larger premises has enabled us to invest in the company with the addition of another Bottero cutting table. This will allow us to meet customer demands, whilst investment elsewhere ensures that we are keeping up-to-date with the latest technology. We have also invested in facilities for our staff and the new layout of the premises has helped improve both goods inwards and outwards; these are now streamlined to maximise efficiency.
“Achieving our new ISO 9001:2015 accreditation is good news for our customers,” he continued. “It means we have to demonstrate our ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
We look forward to celebrating ten years of excellence this year by sharing some of our profits with our customers by offering promotions and sales.”
