Quanex Building Products has appointed Chris Alderson to succeed Andy Jones in the position of managing director for its Edgetech UK business unit.
According to Quanex, Alderson has ‘a proven track record for success’ in the United Kingdom’s insulating glass market, serving most recently as Bostik’s European business director, Assembly Solutions.
“Chris is well respected within the European insulating glass market, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role in the areas of leadership, planning, service and knowledge of the industrial and construction sectors in the UK and Europe,” said George Wilson, president, Quanex IG Systems. “His dedication to service and elevating the fenestration industry will make him a great asset to Quanex and, most importantly, to our customers.”
Alderson was with Bostik Europe for nearly 20 years, holding positions in sales, operations and executive management. He has a diploma in mechanical engineering from Leicester Charles Keene College and is also currently serving as council board member for British Adhesives and Sealants Association (BASA).
“Edgetech UK is a thriving organisation with an excellent reputation in the UK and beyond,” Alderson said. “I’m looking forward to joining the team and continuing to uphold the tradition of excellence Edgetech’s customers expect.”
Wilson added: “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Andy Jones for his consistently strong and professional leadership over the 12 years he has spent with Edgetech UK. Under Andy’s management and direction the UK operations have undergone significant growth and warm edge spacer technology has been accepted into the mainstream. We wish him all the best in his new role.”
