Yorkshire based new build window manufacturer, Building Product Solutions, is investing £350,000 to expand its premises for the second time in two years.
The company’s investment is being boosted with a grant of £45,000 from the Leeds City Region Growth Fund. Building Product Solutions will extend its premises by 7,000ft2 to house a new distribution centre.
The investment will provide the business with additional space to hold stock, enabling it to meet demand at short notice and reduce turnaround time, which is a key factor in the construction supply chain.
The expansion will help Building Product Solutions deliver its current £14 million order book and accept new orders from the new build sector. It follows the successful construction and opening of a dedicated glass plant at its Dearne Valley headquarters, which cut production costs by 20%.
Ian Harrison, managing director of Building Product Solutions said: “Planning permission has been approved and we’re keen to get the build of the distribution centre underway. This is the next step in our growth strategy and the support from Leeds City Region has been instrumental in maintaining our upward trajectory.
“We are constantly investing in the business through an ongoing programme of expansion, automation, upgrades and improvement. This is supported by recruitment and training which is fast positioning us as the supplier of choice to a number of major new build developers.”
Building Product Solutions achieved a turnover of £3.5 million in the year up to May 2015 – having experienced growth of 60% in the last 12 months. It now reportedly has £14 million worth of jobs on its books after winning long-term contracts to supply housing developers such as Persimmon, Miller Homes, Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson and Redrow.
