Frames Conservatories Direct (FCD) has expanded its reach across East Anglia, thanks to the addition of a third showroom. The Suffolk-based installer, and customer of Veka fabricator, the Glazerite UK Group, has opened up the space in the Norfolk town of Diss, on the site of a former toy shop.
Covering 500ft2, the installer has utilised the space to create a display of windows, doors, bi-folds and even conservatory roof samples. Both the Diss showroom and another in Ely, Cambs, are additions to FCD’s main showroom in Bury St Edmunds, where the installer is based.
Owner and MD, Adrian Lewis, commented: “Over the last three years, we’ve worked hard to build awareness of our business and establish a presence in the Norfolk area with a stall in the local market. This meant we were able to generate enquiries and introduce ourselves to potential customers before opting to create a more permanent space with the showroom.
“It’s a more compact space compared to our main showroom in Bury St Edmunds, which houses our full range of products, but we’ve designed it in a way that we can display a number of the products we install, such as Veka and Halo. It’s been very well received by new and existing customers in and around Diss, and our recent open day was well attended by local stakeholders including neighbouring businesses and councillors. We’re delighted that we can share our products and ethos with more and more customers across East Anglia.”
Customer service is said to be at the heart of FCD, and Adrian and his team like to get involved in the communities they serve with activities including fundraising and sponsorship. Adrian also recently completed the GM Fundraising cycling challenge, ‘From Russia with Hope’.
Katie Sampson, area sales manager for Glazerite, which has supplied FCD since 2013, says the use of showrooms is becoming increasingly popular with installers. She said: “Glazerite supports installers who are updating or creating brand new showrooms by providing samples for display. We’re delighted to see FCD expanding their presence with showrooms across three counties.”
Adrian added: “Having a space customers can visit and see the products up close is important as it gives them confidence and reassurance.”
FCD employs 40 people and also owns trade-focused Plastic Trade Frames. The team were awarded a National Customer Satisfaction award at the recent Veka Independent Network members’ weekend.
