A Barnsley based window manufacturer has donated products and services to a York Scouting group in need.
Building Product Solutions has supplied and fitted new windows and doors to complete the refurbishment of the Scout Centre for the 1st Easingwold (Forest of Galtres) Scout Group.
The group has been in existence since 1910 and is said to be the longest serving youth service in the Easingwold area, with a membership of more than 70 young people aged six to 14 and around 20 adult volunteers.
The Scout Centre was built for the Scouts by Persimmon Homes in 1994, in exchange for the land its old Scout hut stood on, which became the entrance to Persimmon’s new housing estate.
The chair of the 1st Easingwold Scout Group, Gerard Tubb, said:
“The new windows and doors are a great boost to a major refurbishment of the Scout Centre, which had a new kitchen fitted this summer.
“Everyone involved with 1st Easingwold Scout Group wants to say a massive Scouting thank you to Building Product Solutions for being so generous. We really are most grateful for their help – it means we can spend our funds on giving more opportunities to more youngsters.”
Lynne Darwin, sales director at Building Product Solutions, said:
“Building Product Solutions has built a successful relationship with Persimmon over the past few years.
“2014 was a brilliant year for us – we’re growing at an incredible rate and we love nothing more than sharing our success with the local community, which is why when Persimmon approached us we were only too happy to help.”
