Patrick Jefferies, Abloy UK’s commercial director, is celebrating 30 years of service to the company.

He started as a regional sales representative in 1994. Patrick has progressed through various roles, including national sales manager, academy director and commercial director in 2011.

The company said that a major achievement during his career was the establishment of the Abloy Academy, which was created to offer training programs that focus on safety, compliance, and best practices in security and access control. The Academy has helped educate installers, specifiers and other professionals in the industry, it added.

In addition to his role at Abloy, Patrick serves as the UK’s technical expert for electric locking with the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN).

Patrick was awarded the Abloy Trusted Advisor of the Year Award in 2022. According to a company statement, this award highlights his ongoing commitment to the security industry and his work in promoting safety and compliance. He is also Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) qualified and became a Bronze Medal Holder in 1999.

He said: “The focus of my work has always been to contribute to safety and security, and I’m pleased to have had the opportunity to help make a positive impact in the industry. Over the last 30 years I have seen a step change not only in terms of standards and compliance, but also with the more recent adoption of digital access solutions.

“The Abloy Academy was created to help educate the industry and raise awareness of solutions that offered high security while ensuring life safety, and how to specify and install them, and I’m delighted with the Academy’s success.

“We’ve also driven huge innovations in access control, and I’m proud to be part of a team that is pioneering systems that offer the highest level of security and quality. None of this would have been possible without the support of the wider team, and I would like to give credit to my incredible colleagues responsible for developing our advanced technologies.”

Aaron Yule, managing director at Abloy UK, added: “Pat has been an integral part of Abloy UK’s development over the past three decades. We are immensely proud to have him as a cornerstone of the Abloy family, and his vision, leadership and commitment have been instrumental in our success.

“We congratulate him on his 30 years of service and look forward to his continued contributions in the years ahead.”
