Village Glass has reportedly become the first company in the UK to invest in Glaston’s FC500 with the iLooK online glass quality measuring system.
“When I came to Village Glass in May 2015, I was excited about the opportunity to grow the business to become the largest independent producer of glazed units in the UK. Data is key to develop any business. That’s why we decided to invest in Glaston’s FC500 with the iLooK online glass quality measuring system,” said Steve Larvin, managing director of Village Glass, based in Essex. “We’ll be the first company in the UK to have iLooK.”
When Steve Larvin joined family-owned Village Glass, he reportedly had a strong vision for raising output levels and reaching new standards in glass quality. He saw an opportunity to be able to better serve the growing commercial market in London, such as hospitals and schools, as well as to be able to offer the massive glass screens to the high-end, multimillion pound British homes.
It is claimed that Glaston’s FC500 will run more glass than both of the company’s two older furnaces combined, giving Village Glass greater output, as well as the capability to run much larger glass sizes of up to 6,000 x 3,300 mm to better serve the requirements of London’s commercial market.
