After celebrating 40 successful years in the home improvement industry in 2015, West End Windows, a Bristol based fabricator of PVC-U systems from The Veka UK Group, has started the next episode in its company history with a fresh new website.
The family-run company, started by Bill Carr in 1975, dealt solely in aluminium windows until 1979, when the ever-increasing popularity of PVC-U systems lead it to diversify. Bill’s son, Garry took over the business in 1989 alongside his wife Pauline, and now their daughters Karen and Laura also play leading roles in the business.
Sales and marketing manager, Karen Carr explained: “Besides showcasing the huge range and quality of home improvements available from West End Windows, our new website truly marks a milestone for the company, and we’ve made sure it does justice to our story so far.
“Even in the short time it’s been ‘live’, we’ve had so much to share with our customers – both through the ‘news’ section, and our social media accounts – demonstrating that while we may be four decades old, we certainly don’t intend to rest on our laurels!”
The PVC-U side of West End Windows’ business operates from a state-of-the-art, 30,000ft2 factory, equipped with the very latest automated CNC machinery.
“We pride ourselves on fabricating Veka products of the very highest quality,” Karen continued. “That, alongside our diverse range, is what has attracted and maintained business over the years. The benefit of a modern website is being able to show customers what is available, how it looks when installed, the technical specifications, and more. It’s so easy to browse and navigate that people are discovering products and services that they didn’t even realise we offered before!
“The majority of our business comes directly from the trade, so it’s crucial to our success that we offer products that satisfy both installers and their homeowner customers. Veka’s is probably the most recognised name in the business – the biggest manufacturer of PVC-U profile here, and around the world – and we benefit from the trust and esteem that comes with it; particularly as an Approved Installer and Fabricator. We only regret that we didn’t join The Veka UK Group when we first started offering PVC-U systems!”
