The Job Estimate Calculator leverages real-world data from over 1.5 million completed jobs across Checkatrade’s network of 50,000 vetted trade businesses, to instantly generate accurate price estimates for a wide range of home improvement and maintenance tasks.
Unlike static price guides, the tool accounts for:
- Location-specific costs
- Seasonal demand fluctuations
- Optional inclusion of material estimates
This innovation enables consumers to get a clearer sense of a fair price – helping them make more informed hiring decisions while also reinforcing trust in professional tradespeople.

Checkatrade research reveals only 37% of consumers receive a written quote before work starts. This calculator arms them with a price benchmark – safeguarding against rogue trades and promoting better quoting practices for trusted tradespeople.
Alongside this, the newly launched Home Health Report offers a digital property condition check powered by AI. Consumers simply upload photos of their home’s exterior to receive an instant assessment on energy efficiency, maintenance issues, and property value – plus tailored trade recommendations of which trades would be a good fit for the job via Checkatrade’s trusted network.
