Aluprof aluminium door, window and curtain wall systems have been used on some of the residential blocks on the site of the London 2012 Olympics.
,The 2012 Olympics transformed a large area of East London into a lasting legacy for the city, with some of the best sporting facilities in London and the South East.
,The athletes’ accommodation used for the games has now been converted into affordable housing of the highest standards, close to the huge Westfield shopping centre.
,Plot 14 of the athletes’ village was completed by Aluprof dealer Glass & ALU CAD. The bespoke solutions, developed in close cooperation between Aluprof and Glass & AluCAD, complied with the requirements of accommodation for the athletes both during the Games and conversion to affordable homes after the Games. Window details were developed specifically for the project which include, integrated frame shadow gaps with EPDM channels, hidden vent systems and a door developed specifically for the project, which is not available in any alternative system range.
,Development, fabrication and installation was completed on time by Aluprof’s dealer, Glass & ALU CAD, for main contractor Lend Lease.
