PDS was recently awarded OHSAS 18001 occupational hazard management certification by QMS International.
This is PDS’ third accreditation from QMS International. The company also has an ISO 9001 quality management system certificate, as well as an ISO 14001 environmental management system certificate.
OHSAS, which stands for Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Specification, is internationally accepted as a method of assessing and auditing occupational health and safety management systems. By having a clearly defined management system in place to identify and control health and safety risks, PDS says it was able to minimise risks to its workforce and visitors, or external contractors on their premises. PDS says it will review and improve occupational health and safety annually, to ensure it is constantly aware of any risks.
On receiving the OHSAS 18001 accreditation, PDS managing director, Tim Fairley, said: “PDS is proud to have received this accreditation, once more showing its commitment to continually improving employee welfare and the health and safety responsibility of the business.”
A spokesperson for QMS International said: “Management system standards are highly prestigious and demanded all over the world by organisations and consumers alike. Achieving certification makes a positive statement to prospective customers about your management systems and the importance you place on meeting your customers’ needs.”
