Leaders of Made for Trade have selected Yale as the new supplier of door handles for the manufacturer’s award-winning Korniche range of bi-fold doors.
Close collaboration between the technical teams at Made for Trade and Yale has resulted in an enhanced and exclusive design that is said to deliver ‘outstanding durability and strength’. The handles have been tested to 100,000 cycles and meet BS 1670: Grade 5 for 480 hours of neutral salt spray and BS EN 1906:2012 for strength.
“Our Korniche range is all about attractive design combined with robust functionality,” said Ashley Gaunt, technical director at Made for Trade. “It is the finer detail, such as the handles, that make or break the overall delivery in the eyes of the customer. That’s why we’ve selected Yale as our new supplier of bi-fold door handles for the range, as we feel they are the best fit to compliment our premium product feel, quality, brand and aesthetics.
“Integration of Yale’s well-proven mechanism into Made for Trade’s innovative handle design has subtly enhanced the Korniche doors while maintaining the signature look and exclusive appeal. We’re delighted with this new collaboration and the finished product.”
Brett Evans, Yale’s technical director added: “The Made for Trade team came to us with a strict brief for the bi-fold door handles to suit their Korniche range: primarily to evolve from the existing design while delivering a high-quality specification that is expected from a Yale product in terms of quality and reliability.
“We worked closely with them to create the perfect solution, and it’s satisfying to hear that they are happy with the finished result. We hope this is the start of a long-term partnership.”
