UAP, a specialist in locks and hardware for doors and windows, has acquired Security Hardware from Eurocell PLC. Security Hardware is based in the West Midlands and specialises in domestic PVC-U door and windows hardware, supplied online and through more than 200 Eurocell branches across the UK. Established 15 years ago, the company has forged a reputation for the quality of its portfolio, including products offered under the Schlosser Technik brand, its representatives have claimed.
The acquisition is set to significantly expand UAP’s offer to customers, adding new products to its range and strengthening its geographical reach through Security Hardware’s distribution centre in Willenhall. The deal should also allow the supply of UAP’s entire portfolio to Eurocell’s branches.
David Jennings, CEO of UAP, said: “This strategic acquisition will provide our customers with even more choice, including a wide range of specialist products that we’ve never offered before. These include a high-quality Twin Cam window lock, different types of window handles and van and garage security hardware. Security Hardware customers can benefit in the same way, with access to UAP’s entire product range, providing them with a one-stop-shop for all their needs.
“Adding a West-Midlands-based distribution centre to our network is another key development for our business, enabling us to serve customers in this region more quickly and effectively. Long term, we’re planning to employ more delivery drivers and warehouse operatives at this site, to strengthen our logistics capabilities.”
Mitch Masters, procurement director of Security Hardware, added: “There were obvious synergies with UAP which made this acquisition a natural next step for our business. Combined, our product range is one of the most diverse on the market, enabling us to target a broader customer base right across the UK. Maintaining the partnership with Eurocell branches will also ensure that, as a group, we can continue to support local businesses.”
Security Hardware has joined UAP as part of UAP’s proactive acquisition strategy which has seen the business acquire a further two companies within the last three years: Locking Systems and Intelligent Hardware.
