Kenrick has strengthened its suite of hardware options with the launch of a comprehensive range of friction stays.
According to Kenrick, the range, which is available in a number of different sizes and options, has been created to provide smooth operation, ‘superb’ weather-sealing and reliability.
Handed to provide a positive, weathertight seal when closed, the friction stays are made from type 430 ferritic stainless steel to provide resistance to most atmospheric conditions and satisfy the requirements of BS EN 10088. The friction stays, which can also be retro-fitted, are available in stack heights of 13mm and 17mm to suit most profile systems.
Steve Williams, Kenrick’s sales and marketing director, said: “The range of hardware products for PVC-U, timber and aluminium windows from Kenrick is constantly evolving and we now have an extensive collection of around 1,100 products in our portfolio. Providing a long, trouble-free service life at a competitive price, this range of friction stays satisfies the needs of the fabricator, installer and homeowner.”
The friction stays are available in 8”, 10”, 12”, 16”, 20” and 24” for top hung applications and 12” and 16” for side hung applications. Kenrick has also developed an egress friction stay – available in 12” and 16” for side hung applications – to satisfy the requirements of Approved Document B (fire safety) of the Building Regulations for emergency egress. An egress easy clean friction stay – available in 12” and 16” for side hung applications – is said to provide emergency egress and also enables easy cleaning of the glass from inside.
The entire range of friction stays has been function tested to 30,000 full cycles and has been salt spray tested for a minimum of 240 hours to exceed the requirements of BS 7412. Each friction stay also comes with a full 10-year mechanical guarantee.
