The home security and fenestration component provider ERA has achieved the FD30 for its TS 008 Nu Mail Shield letterplate. The certification further extends the business’ dedicated suite of hardware and decorative furniture for fire doors.
Independently tested in accordance with the requirements of BS EN 1634-1: 2014 on a 30-minute timber fire door, the FD30 test evidence demonstrates ERA’s continued commitment to providing fabricators with solutions that comply with the latest standards, the firm’s representatives have said. Supplied with comprehensive test evidence and documentation, door manufacturers can be confident that when they contact their test body to assess their door substrate, the ERA letterplate will provide the highest standards of fire performance for the required 30 minutes, the representative continued.
Marketed as providing ‘the highest standards of fire safety performance’, the letterplate is said to offer ‘unrivalled levels of security’. It was designed to prevent access via fishing or reaching; a restricted flap protects the property within. The letterplate has also undergone thorough independent testing to conform to the TS 008:2015 security standard while also meeting the requirements of PAS 24 and Secured by Design.
Other products within ERA’s portfolio of fire door hardware and decorative furniture include the firm’s Fortress 3* cylinder, SureFire multi-point lock, door viewer, door chain and numerals. The range also includes Fab&Fix Balmoral door handles, Windsor door handles and the Nu Mail letterplate, all of which have been tested to FD30 BS 476, FD30 EN 1634 and FD60 BS 476.
Ben Penson, ERA’s technical innovation and improvement director, said: “Our latest FD30 test evidence reflects our continued dedication to manufacturing hardware that meets the most demanding performance standards and fulfils the necessary requirements for our fabrication partners. By extending our range of independently tested solutions we are able to provide manufacturers with a complete offering of hardware that can be used across a wide range of fire doors to ensure the highest levels of safety and durability.”
