The Door & Hardware Federation (DHF) held its Members’ Conference on 5 February at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford, and welcomed 200 members and industry professionals for a day of knowledge sharing, networking, and innovation.
The highly enjoyable day featured a number of workshops including Dafydd Williams, from the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, who spoke about the government response to Grenfell; Neil Rule, Managing Director at Access2, who spoke about the update to the standard, TS 007-1; Gillian McAteer, Director of Employment Law at Citation, who spoke on navigating employment law, and Steve Hill & Dave Jones from DHF, who delivered a presentation about The European Machinery Regulations & the European Construction Products Regulations and Driving Sustainability.
A highlight of the day was an inspiring talk from guest speaker, Flt. Lt John Nichol, who spoke movingly about his experience as a tortured British prisoner-of-war in the first Gulf War in 1991. Images of his encounter were shown across the world and became an enduring symbol of the conflict.
The exhibition hall comprised stands from Gliderol Garage & Industrial Doors, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, RCS Doors, Allegion (UK), Expert Access Solutions Ltd, Hörmann (UK), Jewers Doors, JMA UK, LiftMaster, Rutland Door Controls, Strongdor and SWS UK, showcasing their latest products. The exhibition provided a valuable platform for networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange.
“It was hugely rewarding to welcome our members and other guests to join us in coming together for a highly enjoyable day,” said DHF’s Commercial Director, Patricia Sowsbery-Stevens. “We would like to thank everyone who attended, we are beyond grateful for the energy, enthusiasm, and incredible contribution from our members.
“In addition, we would like to thank our sponsors: Gliderol Garage & Industrial Doors, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, RCS Doors, Citation Professional Solutions & Access2. We look forward to hosting similar events in the future.”
