Steel door manufacturer Strongdor won Medium Business of the Year at this year’s Red Rose Awards. Held at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, the awards ceremony was attended by representatives of more than 1,000 Lancashire-based businesses on 9 June.
Tim Devenish, Strongdor’s managing director, said: “We are all delighted to have been awarded the prestigious honour. Having moved to our new manufacturing facility in 2021, our production capacity has more than tripled and our staff numbers almost double. Without the continued dedication of our team who strive to maintain our mission, our journey would not have been possible.”
Commenting on why Strongdor was chosen for the award, the judges said: “Strongdor is bold and brave, committing significant investments to home-based manufacturing and their people and skills. They are paying off.”
Event founder Richard Slater added: “The Red Rose Awards, now in its 12th year, are very hotly contested, so Strongdor should be very proud that they have seen off all the competition to win this award!” Strongdor manufacture custom-made steel doors in its 44,500ft² purpose-built factory in Morecambe.
